ThunderPack Minitm is a portable Thunderbolt 2 hardware RAID for anyone who needs to collect data on location and move it to a processing center. While it is designed for the digital film workflow, any project needing to record large amounts of data in the field can use the ThunderPack Minitm, such as VR productions, medical MRI imaging facilities, military/law enforcement, or industrial work.
It is destined to become the new standard in portable, large capacity digital storage systems because it is rugged, light-weight, and has important features found in no other Thunderbolt recording system.
ThunderPack Mini is built using advanced, lightweight materials including aircraft-grade aluminum and carbon fiber elements (25lb./11.4Kg including drives and batteries). The unit is self-contained in an IP67-rated watertight, dustproof Pelican case that can be stowed in an overhead airline bin. It has a sophisticated power management system with built-in Li-ion battery array that serves as a UPS and can power the unit up to 6 hours, as well as operate an external LTO drive while also charging MacBooks and cell phones. There is a separate 12-22v connector so it can be powered by external battery packs and an optional solar panel. Its unique, shockproof, and patented disk pod holds eight 2.5” HDDs or SSDs impervious to shock and vibration. Capacity is up to 40TB.
ThunderPack Minitm comes in different models allowing connection to external LTOs and the Codex Capture Drives; and if you need HD monitoring for your stored clips it comes with an optional BMD Ultrastudio Mini Monitor. There is also a straight-ahead version with just RAID, Thunderbolt 2, and batteries and even a version without the batteries for simple workflows.
