Moving your data using airliners, third party couriers, trusted employees etc., imposes a very basic danger: losing the device in between transporting hubs, whether due to accident, wrongdoing, or even heavy weather conditions that may result to having the device stacked somewhere on the back of a truck, a train wagon or a ship container for weeks… Even worse, in the case of wrongdoing, even if your data is heavily encrypted it is essential to know if there is someone trying to take a copy of it, as well as the exact whereabouts of the device in order to engage law enforcement. Yes, your data may be encrypted, but can you be 100% certain that the encryption passphrase was not stolen as part of an "inside job"? That is why tracking your data, knowing and verifying the Chain-of-Custody and understanding what happens to the device while on transit is crucial.
When talking about computing, autonomy means battery-power. ServerPack™ EDGE from the ServerPack™ family, as well as the "Plus" variants from the ThunderPack™ Mini family, carry an intelligent power bank with proprietary control circuits, that operates in various combinations of in/out current setups. The power bank can charge from a wall outlet anywhere in the world, from a solar panel, from a car battery, or even from a simple mobile phone power bank. A ServerPack™ EDGE may support its own operation up to 4 hours straight together common peripherals like computer screens, routers, printers etc, while a ThunderPack™ Mini can also support professional film cameras, LTO tape recorders etc. And of course, both of them can support all the mobile devices you can think of for dozens of charge cycles.
