Acromove’s portable rugged Thunderbolt RAID systems showcased at GV Expo 2017
The ThunderPack with a storage capacity of 120TB and the ThunderPack Mini with 40TB offer unique capabilities for producers on the go.
Production companies under increasing pressure to do more shooting with fewer resources will appreciate Acromove’s portable
Thunderbolt 2 RAID storage lineup when it is shown at Government Video Expo booth 209 in Washington D.C. later this month. Their products are made for the way work is done, unbound from massive racks of equipment with the advanced capabilities needed for remote production.
The ThunderPack is a versatile field recording system with sophisticated power management using AC, Li-Ion batteries and external solar panels. Laptops, monitors, lights, and LTO drives can all be run off of its internal power for up to 6 hours.
Acromove’s units are manufactured in Greece out of local, top-notch aircraft grade aluminum and carbon fiber panels, making them very light and rugged. Every internal system is shock-mounted to survive international shipping and custom cases are sized to be checked in as airline luggage or even stowed in overhead bins. The Pelican exoskeleton offers waterproofing and drops protection.
The ThunderPack can also be used as a WiFi hotspot allowing transcoded clips to be immediately shown on set. It can store up to 120TB for plenty of project space. It has twenty-four 2.5” drive slots for either HDDs or SSDs, and its hardware RAID card enables the storage to be tiered for different performance needs.
The ThunderPack Mini is the newest addition to the Acromove lineup. It’s built with the same advanced, lightweight materials as its big brother and is self-contained in an IP67-rated watertight, dustproof Pelican case. Its unique patented disk pod holds eight 2.5” HDDs or SSDs impervious to shock and vibration. Capacity is up to 40TB.
The ThunderPack Mini can power a laptop, monitor, and LTO drive from its internal 3-battery system. Producers can now do transcoding while driving to the next scene, or color correct their shots even when there is no AC power available. If there’s sunlight left a solar panel can be rolled out to keep on working or just switch to battery power.
Acromove is exhibiting at the Government Video Expo 2017 in Washington D.C. on November 29 and 30 in booth 209. More information is available at their website www.acromove.com and on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
